On June 7th, the State University of New York College and Career Counseling Center (SUNY CCCC) hosted their Fourth Annual Awards, Bell Ringing and Recognition Ceremony at SUNY Schenectady County Community College’s main campus, in Schenectady, NY

On June 7th, the State University of New York College and Career Counseling Center (SUNY CCCC) hosted their Fourth Annual Awards, Bell Ringing and Recognition Ceremony at SUNY Schenectady County Community College’s main campus, in Schenectady, NY. SUNY CCCC serves thousands of educationally and economically disadvantaged residents, ages 16 and older, in the Capital Region by providing services and support to those looking to connect to pathways of employment, education, training and vocational opportunities.

The ceremony recognized the SUNY CCCC participants’ employment and educational placements and in addition, campus and community partners.  The CCT was recognized as a community partner for their continued support with SUNY College and Career Counseling Center. The CCT is an active partner in the SUNY CCCC Construction Training Program and has placed numerous participants into the Sisters in the Brotherhood program. The CCT actively attends the SUNY CCCC career fairs and supports their events. Dr. DeShawn McGarrity, Executive Director of SUNY CCCC, presented the ‘Outstanding Employer Award’ to the Carpenter Contractor Trust, recognizing the partnership that the CCT has built and fostered with SUNY CCCC. Melissa Clark, CCT Marketing Manager, accepted the award on behalf of the Carpenter Contractor Trust. Jill O’Brien and Local 291 Council Representative, Jim Standhart were also in attendance.

Greetings and remarks were provided by Lisa L. McKay, Associate Provost and Director, SUNY University Center for Academics and Workforce Development and Dr. Steady H. Moono, President of SUNY Schenectady County Community College. The SUNY CCCC is administered by Schenectady County Community College and is a part of the State University of New York's University Center for Academic and Workforce Development (UCAWD).
