On January 25th, Melissa Clark attended the Social Enterprise and Training Center (SEAT) YouthBuild annual graduation ceremony at Schenectady County Community College. Nineteen students, between the ages of 18-24, graduated from this nine-month program, which is designed to engage young people that need to complete their high school education and also receive career training.

YouthBuild’s mission is to assist young people in transforming their lives and communities through training, community service, and sustainable wage jobs. YouthBuild’s curriculum focuses on project-based education and splits its students between classroom and worksite, with construction work being an important part of the YouthBuild experience. The Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters are program partners.
