Melissa Clark attended the American Labor Studies Center (ALSC) Annual Recognition Reception. The event touched on the history of the labor movement and CCT sponsored an ad in the program. In the 1820’s, Kate Mullany, an Irish immigrant, led America's first women's labor union and after a weeklong strike, successfully won major gains in wages and working conditions for local collar workers.
One of the five honorees on the night included Alisa Cahill Henderson, President of Duncan and Cahill and a signatory contractor. Duncan and Cahill, along with Local 291 carpenters are currently performing the restoration work on the Kate Mullany National Historic Site in Troy, NY.
