Numerous Local 291 members reside in Mechanicville and united to give back to their community

Local 291 member, Joseph Zaffino contacted Team Lead, Christopher Dugan to ask if the Carpenters Union would help the town of Mechanicville to restore the Tallmadge Park Pavilion.  Numerous Local 291 members live in Mechanicville and they wanted to give back to their community and help restore this aging, long-standing landmark. 

Christopher Dugan coordinated with supervisor, Tom Richardson and Council Representatives Tom McKiernan, Peter McAnearney, James Standhart along with Local 291 Apprentices and Journeymen to make the restoration possible. Tom Richardson who was the driving force behind the project to restore the park, coordinated with the town, the local businesses and the carpenters.

Furthermore, Tom Richardson, Christopher Dugan and Tom McKiernan met to speak about the importance of apprenticeships for the future workforce in Mechanicville and Saratoga County which would create opportunities and provide gainful careers in the construction industry throughout the region.
