Melissa Carter, from CCT, attended the Open House Event for the recent refurbishment of the Training Center, in Rochester, on April 28th. The event began at 9am and featured a breakfast, presentations from a variety of speakers, video footage and tours of the newly renovated building.
Speakers included the NYS Training Centers Director, Jim Hayes, and Northwest Regional Manager, Dave Haines, who each relayed information about the investments being made into the training centers and expansion of the apprenticeship programs.
NRCC Director of Policy and Planning, Michael Cinquanti, Senator Joseph Robach, and Assemblyman Harry Bronson, spoke about the legislative priorities to encourage the protection of workers. A tour of the center was given by the Council Representatives to apprentices, members, and attendees present to conclude the event.
Attendees included NYS Labor Commissioner, Roberta Reardon, Senator Rich Funke, and Senator Pam Helming, along with Representatives from the City of Rochester, Monroe County Legislature, and numerous contractors.
